execute Mort-vivant Update 0.102

I randomly changed some things for execute Mort-vivant, the engines old an horrible but I thought I’ll just make it so it’s easier to play multiple matches in a row without having to go back to the beginning of the flash file and go through all the menus again. While I was at it I changed a couple of other things too.

Patch Notes:

- After finishing a Skirmish Match you are given the option to continue in a new round or go back to the menu (Pressing SPACE or ENTER after the match will continue a new round)
- Punching speeds of both characters: ‘Adelio’ and ‘Torrunt’ have been increased
- The AI opponent can attack from further away

That game I made a while ago with Nunsense is now released and sponsored by dedegames.com.

Fred’s Head is a game about a guy called Fred who got pushed into some radioactive waste which in result made his head grow to obnoxious proportions. You play as Fred and it’s your job to rid the town of all bullies by smashing them into nothingness with your gigantic head whilst avoiding hazards and killing normal kids running and playing in the street.

Fight past 10 waves of enemies, don’t let the name “wave” fool you – you don’t just hang around and wait for them to stop coming you have to run to the end of the map for them to stop. As you get further into the game the chance of a large bully coming increase and the amount of hazards and normal kids increase and once you get past wave 5 you are put onto a map of half the size making it even more of a challenge.

Lovely and cute cartoon graphics, beautiful and misplaced music, gruesome and amusing game play with a touch of disturbing but fitting sound effects makes this game something I might actually want to give time to play.

You can go play over at:

I through together some gameplay footage of our game for the Newgrounds Power of Three event. I would say It’s in It’s mid-to-late alpha stages right now so you will see a couple of glitches here and there.

Fred’s Head

I finished programming a new game I’ve been working on with another guy from Newgrounds called “Fred’s Head”. I started work on it not that long ago – about 3 weeks but I only worked on it maybe several days. We put this game up on Flash Game License looking for a sponsor, you can go see it there if you want but you’ll probably have to sign up there as a Developer.

Fruity: Reprogrammed

In other news a couple of days ago I started reprogramming Fruity: my first ever flash game (or game if you don’t count the crappy RPG maker ones). Progress is going well, I pretty much just need to add the fruit and draw up some levels.

fruityscreenThe game will only have 2 weapons this time (even though I can now program automatic weapons properly) the handgun and the rocket launcher, they were my favourite weapons in Fruity and the M4-Carbine just didn’t really fit in a world like that.
I may or may not add more enemies, I remember drawing up some for Fruity back when I was still working on it but I’m not sure if I want to or can be bothered adding them – I’m very lazy at animating. I remember drawing up some vegetables to be enemies and some green blob… yeah.
While I was programming the Bees (the enemies) I thought I would try and create and new way with dealing with them and I did, a much more efficient but very similar to my old way that will decrease lag. I’ll be using this new techquie in another game I’ve been working on with a couple of other guys for Newground’s Power of Three event, where I’m the programmer, one guy is the Artist/Animator and the other is the Musician.

If anyone wants to pitch some ideas for things that could be in Fruity feel free to do so either by commenting here or sending me an email.

Both games have now been added to the ‘Games’ page but neither have a link leading to anything.

I took part in one of Invincible Film’s films, I’m pretty awesome aren’t I?

(In case you couldn’t guess/ tell I’m the one with the gun).

Just for a bit of fun I made a new Breakfloor map for Team Fortress 2, this time with no respawning.

My  friend from school and I wanted to make a fighting game with us in it beating each other up and maybe some other people and we made it so we could do it and have it migrate with one of our Certificate 2 IT projects. We made it by taking photos of each other and then he cut them out and I put it all together into a playable game. We planned out campaign story, some special moves for the characters and also wanted to eventually get around to putting some of our other friends into the game but our task had a due date and so we left the game with a simple versus mode (with AI or a friend on the same keyboard) with just us 2 as characters. We do plan on coming back to it sometime in the future and adding the things we wanted actually completing the game.
You can find more information on the game on its website which is what the “Play it” link above linked to.

Fruity was my first ever game made with Flash, I never finished it but you play what I did make on deviantART by clicking the “Play it” above. The game lags a bit (or in some cases a lot) because I didn’t really know what I was doing and it has a lot of code it doesn’t really need or some of it is just much longer then it needs to be. If you want to play it without the lag you can just ‘Right click’ the ‘Download’ button on the side and go ‘Save as’. I learnt a lot from making this, one thing being: check the tutorial your reading isn’t for a really old version of Flash (It was Flash 5 or something) but seriously it did help me a lot. This was also around the time I got my Graphics Tablet so you should notice that the graphics in this is quite an improvement from my earlier animations. Maybe someday I’ll make a game with the same concept as this game (collecting fruit and shooting bees).
